Biography

Jacob Abrahamse is a Canadian tenor praised by Opera Canada as a “gifted tenor” and an “impressive Alfredo” for his work in La traviata. Known for his dynamic stage presence and refined vocal artistry, he performs across North America in opera, oratorio, and concert repertoire. In the 2025–26 season, he appears with The Dallas Opera in Rachel Portman’s The Little Prince and as a tenor soloist in Haydn’s Die Schöpfung with the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra. A two-time Apprentice Artist at The Santa Fe Opera, Abrahamse has also appeared with ensembles including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, and the Elmer Iseler Singers.
